As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day weekend to honor those who have fought for our freedoms, let’s remember one of the most cherished rights we hold: the power to vote and petition our government. This holiday is a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made to protect our democratic values, including our right to influence local policies that shape our community.

We are currently at a critical juncture in our efforts to set building height limits in Colorado Springs to 247 feet. Our campaign is not just about preserving the breathtaking views of Pikes Peak but also about addressing the broader issues of pollution and gentrification that affect us all.

Why This Matters:

Preserving Scenic Views: The majestic views of Pikes Peak are a natural treasure that define our city’s character. By limiting building heights, we can ensure that future generations can enjoy these vistas.

Combating Pollution: Taller buildings can contribute to increased pollution levels. Setting height limits helps us manage and reduce environmental impacts.

Preventing Gentrification: Unchecked development can drive up housing costs and displace long-time residents. Our ballot measure aims to keep Colorado Springs inclusive and affordable.
