Allow Teen Accounts to Own PS5 Games

Allow Teen Accounts to Own PS5 Games
The issue
I recently received a $50 Playstation gift card, and I was eager to use it to buy some games that I had been wanting to play. However, because of the current policy, I was forced to use my dad's account to make the purchases. Now, I can only access these games if the offline game sharing setting is active on the PS5. This has been a frustrating experience as it restricts my access and ownership of games that I purchased with my own money.
Teenagers today are more tech-savvy and gaming-oriented than ever before. With gaming being a significant part of our social lives, it’s imperative that we have the ability to purchase and own the content we buy. Allowing teen accounts, particularly those aged 13 and above, to own games bought or redeemed during promotions would grant us the freedom to enjoy our purchases without unnecessary limitations.
Moreover, many parents buy games as gifts for their kids with the expectation that they can enjoy and eventually pass them down when their children are ready to manage their own accounts. Enabling the transfer of game ownership from parents to children when they reach a certain age would be a beneficial policy change for many gaming families.
The current restrictions not only prevent teenagers from having full access to their purchases but also discourage responsible ownership and financial management. By adapting policies to allow teenagers more control over their gaming assets and facilitating intergenerational transfer of game ownership, PlayStation can foster a more inclusive and empowering gaming experience for families.
I urge PlayStation to consider revising their policies to reflect these necessary changes. Allow teenagers the ownership rights of their purchases and enable the seamless transfer of game ownership. Sign this petition to encourage Sony PlayStation to revise their game ownership policies for teen accounts and families.
Even if the above wouldn't be possible, I would also like it so that whatever games the dad or mum buys a game on their PSN account, it gets passed down the Playstation family if the parents choose so. Update: Kids can actually own PS5 games themselves if they're using actual money OR the game they're getting is free.
