Allow students to choose between Noteflight and Musescore

The Issue

I've been using Musescore for a long time, and I have many compositions and scores that I’ve painstakingly crafted and saved on it. The news that our music teacher is now requiring us to switch to Noteflight is not only frustrating but potentially devastating to our creative processes. Noteflight's interface is buggy, its sound quality for music playback is severely lacking, and adapting to it would be akin to entering a musical purgatory.

Musescore has been a reliable and user-friendly software that many of us have grown accustomed to. It offers great sound, a plethora of features suited to all levels of compositions, and does not restrict our creative freedom with outdated interfaces or poor performance. It's especially important because music composition is not just an assignment; it’s a channel for creativity, learning, and emotional expression.

Our request is simple: Let students have the freedom to choose between Noteflight and Musescore. By allowing us choice, our music teacher would be supporting an environment where creativity is nurtured, and students can work in the way that best suits their learning style. Not every tool suits every student, and having options can make a remarkable difference in our educational experience.

We urge the school administration to reconsider this mandate and allow flexibility in the use of music composition tools. This change would not only support the diverse needs of students but would also facilitate a more engaging and personalized learning environment.

Please support our plea for flexibility and creativity in our music education by signing this petition. Let’s strive for a learning space that recognizes the individual preferences and enhances the musical journey for every student. Sign this petition to allow the use of both Noteflight and Musescore in our curriculum.
