Allow school staff to carry firearms, and protect our children.

The Issue

After the recent events in Uvalde, I have seen way too many people coming to arms with ideas of “stricter gun laws” and “banning guns”. I guess these people do not realize that it is already illegal to possess a firearm on school grounds? I’m sure it was even posted on signs per usual. Laws do not stop criminals.
The problem is not the presence of firearms, it is the lack there of. Can you imagine how differently these heartbreaking situations would unfold if every staff member in our schools were carrying a firearm to protect themselves and our children?
With two kids of my own, one nearing school age, I could not help but feel the pain of these parents who will never get to hold their children again, it brought me to tears. That is my worst fear in life, as I’m sure it is for every parent out there. That is why we desperately need to reconsider gun laws we already have in affect, as well as cautiously consider further infringements on rights to protect our selves, our family, our students, exct.
With my own children entering school in the coming years, I desperately want to see the way we go about things changed. I desperately need to know that when my children go to school, that there will be someone there to protect them while I can not be there. We all need to do something to better the world our children will grow up in. Taking guns out of the hands of people who will defend you, I, or anybody who may need it is not the answer.

I believe teachers and staff who want to carry to protect themselves and our children should be allowed. And we as a people, should push to remove the ban on firearms in our schools and make that a possibility.
