My 83 year old nans small terrier dog has recently been attacked by a bull mastiff in her own porch. My nan had no chance of protecting her and unfortunately Sandie died from the injuries caused. My nan rescued Sandie when she was only 6 weeks old and has been her best friend and reason to get out of bed for the past 14 years.

My nan has been left devastated, traumatised and alone, with a hefty vet bill.

Since the attack we have learned that there is no police help available after this incident. The dog nor their owners have been investigated after this extremely violent incident. We have contacted the council who have logged a report and we have contacted the local dog warden. Everyone we have spoken to said to speak to the police. 

There is no one to help. 

We have been not once been assisted or helped by a member of the police force as there is no law allowing them to assist. 

This has to change. Our animals deserve justice too, there should be something the law can do in prosecuting the owner of a dangerous dog, or so police can investigate dangerous dog reports more seriously and not waiting for it to be a dog on child attack.
