I've been trying for weeks to book a driving test, and every time I check, there are no available slots. What's worse is that people are being forced to pay exorbitant amounts of money for what should be a simple £62 test. This shouldn't be happening. Driving test slots, which should be easily accessible to learners, are being bought in bulk by people including driving instructors who then resell these slots for hundreds of pounds. It's creating a huge backlog, making it impossible for real learners to book their tests in a timely manner.

This process is unfair, and it's causing genuine hardship for those of us who are ready to take our driving tests but can't because of manipulated availability. Not only is it frustrating, but it's also putting undue financial pressure on us learners who are eager to get our driving licenses and move forward with our lives.

To solve this issue, I propose that only learner drivers should be allowed to book driving test slots. This change would ensure that test availability is fair and accessible, directly in the hands of learners rather than intermediaries looking to make a profit. Implementing this rule would drastically reduce the backlog, lower the costs for individual learners, and offer equal opportunities for everyone preparing to pass their driving test.
