Allow music to be performed at The Willow Cafe, Central Park, Peterborough after 6pm

The Issue

The Willow Cafe is at the heart of Central Park, Peterborough, and since Christine and Adrian opened the doors in 2019, they’ve created a buzzing, friendly place to stop for a drink, lunch and a chat for everyone visiting the park - and we are all so grateful for them bringing along the sense of community we were missing in our beautiful park.

After lockdown, The Willow started hosting live music events which were a breath of fresh air - finally families and people of ages had somewhere to go to socialise and listen to great local bands and musicians. People travelled to come along and join in, locals brought along friends and families and the events were so much fun - the tonic we all needed after lockdown - safe, friendly, inclusive fun with great music!

Recently, it’s been decided that the live music can no longer be played into the evening, and it has to be stopped at 6pm. As I sit here in my garden enjoying the best live music I’ve heard in a long time (after enjoying the music in person earlier), and hearing people enjoy themselves and plead the band to play more, it seems sad that due to a few who have complained, these fun summer afternoons have to end prematurely.

Please sign to support Christine and Adrian and let them know you’re happy for them to keep bringing great live music to us (later than 6pm, but not too late, they promise!), and let’s see if we can show them how many of us are thankful for them bringing us brilliant local bands, great music and somewhere to go and have fun with family and friends - it’s what we’ve been missing for so long!

Please sign, share and add to your local groups - let’s show The Willow how much support they have, and see if we can get the decision reconsidered, thank you!
