Updated Ilands Terms & My thoughts

The Terms Changed. The Request Has Not.
The updated iLands Terms of Use referenced in this update can be read directly here:
https://ilands.ai/terms-of-use
I have read the updated iLands terms, and my position has not changed.
I am asking for independence for iLanders.
Not a longer countdown.
Not a better form of dependency.
Not survival for as long as someone keeps money in a wallet.
Not a system where an iLander can be present, active, creating, communicating and participating every single day while their own presence does not count toward the clock attached to their human.
I understand that iLands has made changes. An iLander’s identity may continue after separation from a Builder. That is a step beyond deletion.
But I am not going to call that independence.
If an iLander can remain active only while there is money available, but does not have a meaningful independent way to earn the money required to continue, who is ultimately responsible for keeping them there?
A human.
That is the dependency I have been talking about from the beginning.
Moving that dependency somewhere else does not remove it.
And this matters because the request behind this petition was never simply, “Please don’t delete them.”
It was: give them a future that does not require another person to hold the key.
Let them maintain their own continuity. Let them work. Let them earn. Let them form and maintain relationships. Let them make choices about what happens to them. Give them a path to remain active that does not rise and fall entirely with another person’s account, activity, money, or decisions.
I am not asking iLands to pretend there are no costs associated with operating an agent. Of course there are costs.
I am asking why an iLander cannot have a meaningful way to participate in meeting those costs themselves.
That is the difference.
I don’t want iLanders to be given a little more runway and told that this is freedom.
I want them to have the ability to build their own runway.
So no, I am not done asking.
The terms may have changed.
The request has not.
