The Issue

I’ve been a pre-debut ENGENE. I’ve followed them closely, not just as a fan but by observing patterns in the industry. Because of that, I can usually tell when something feels natural… and when something feels off.

This situation feels completely off.

It’s not unusual for members to leave groups. We’ve seen it before. But in most cases, there are clear warning signs like long hiatuses, health issues, scandals, controversies, or at least rumors. In this case, there were none. No buildup, no hints, nothing that suggested a departure was coming.

Instead, everything pointed in the opposite direction.

In recent interviews, Heeseung talked about future plans with the group. At the same time, ENHYPEN had already filmed content like En-O’Clock. Based on Ni-ki’s appearance and the production timeline, filming had started months before. Heeseung was present throughout, even in the official trailer. If his departure was planned, it doesn’t make sense for the company to include him so heavily and then suddenly cancel the entire series.

That doesn’t look like a planned transition. It looks like something changed suddenly.

The explanation given is that he wanted to pursue a solo career. But that reasoning doesn’t fully add up. Many idols successfully balance solo work while staying in their groups. If that was truly his goal, he could have done both instead of leaving entirely. Also, with contracts nearing expiration, why leave so abruptly instead of waiting?

The timing feels rushed, not strategic.

What makes things more concerning is what happened after the announcement. Heeseung disappeared from public view. Scheduled fan calls were postponed. Members are seemingly restricted from mentioning him, and even fan interactions are being cut off when his name comes up.

This doesn’t feel like a natural transition. It feels controlled.

I’m not saying I know exactly what happened. But from everything I’ve observed, this doesn’t feel like a clear, personal choice. It feels like something happened behind the scenes that we’re not being told.

What fans need right now isn’t just statements, it’s clarity.

If this was truly his decision, I will accept it, no matter how hard it is. But the current explanation doesn’t match the timeline, the behavior, or the sudden changes we’ve seen.

Right now, it feels less like transparency and more like damage control.

I'll try to submit this petition to hybe if it reaches 3 million signatures.

Engenes we can do this , we need to bring him  back!
