The list of high school sports in Iowa is limited to only a couple of sports, which means that some communities and kids can only access these activities through clubs, intramurals, and some community options. However, if we allowed more sports to be added, it could allow schools that already have the required space to bring these new experiences to more and more kids, including kids in rural towns that might have never even considered doing it. So, I propose we add the following sports to the official IHSAA list:

• Men's and Women's Lacrosse
• Men's Volleyball
• Men's and Women's Flag Football
• Competitive Fencing
• Esports
• Men's and Women's Badminton
• Men's and Women's Ice and Field Hockey
• Men's and Women's Water Polo
• Men's and Women's Rugby
• Men's and Women's Weightlifting

Please consider allowing these sports to join the ranks of "real" and "official" sports like Football and Basketball, so that we can create more opportunities for high-schoolers throughout Iowa
