As a small eBay seller, I've experienced first-hand the financial stress and disadvantages that result from an unfair feedback system. The current eBay policy does not allow sellers to provide negative feedback to buyers, a constraint leading to scams and fraudulent buyer actions. These are significant issues that have cost me, and other sellers like me, significant amounts of money. This imbalanced feedback system unfairly skews the field toward buyers, putting sellers at risk.

According to ecommercebytes.com, in a survey of 10,000 eBay sellers in 2019, 35% reported being a victim of some form of dishonest buyer behavior, indicating that this is a large-scale problem that needs addressing.

To create a level playing field and ensure genuine transactions and fair trade on eBay, the feedback system needs to change. It is imperative and critical for the survival and growth of small businesses like mine on the platform. By allowing eBay sellers to give negative feedback to dishonest or fraudulent buyers, more transparency can be added to the trade scenario, fostering a healthy and fair trading environment for both sellers and buyers.
