Thank you for all the support so far! As of this writing, we have 224 signatures in less than 2 days (over a busy Father’s Day weekend). Even if you have already signed, I highly encourage you to have spouses sign as well, and please share the link with as many neighbors as possible (social media pages, text messages, or good old-fashioned discussion in person). Please share on individual neighborhood pages as well to get the word out. Many neighbors are very interested in supporting the petition but are not aware it exists yet.
I plan to first send the results of the petition later today, so I would love to see the numbers get even better! I will then continue to provide updates as our numbers continue to grow.
The law requires fair and consistent enforcement of HOA rules and regulations and I would much rather see our HOA dollars go toward bettering our community rather than legal expenses against our community members that may see no other choice than to sue for the selective and arbitrary enforcement that is occurring.
Unfortunately, the longer this moratorium lasts, the more they open themselves up to litigation, both now and in the future. People needing to make repairs before the moratorium ends will be forced to use inferior or much more expensive products or sue them. If they start approving them again, people who missed out may sue for the insurance premium savings they missed out on or even future costs when they inevitably have to replace their roofs again in the near future. They’re putting more and more of our HOA dollars at risk by the day.
Thank you!
