Allow bikes and scooters at union hills skatepark

Allow bikes and scooters at union hills skatepark
The Issue
Union hills skatepark has been around for about 20 years. It has always had signs around the park saying no bikes and no scooters. For many years and I have asked park rangers almost every time I get kicked out why are we not allowed? And I always get different responses and never a direct response. Sometimes they say it’s the concrete rating (scooter wheels are made of urethane just like skateboards) and others say because it’s over 32 inches long. This park is one of the best in arizona and bikes and scooters get kicked out all the time but recently the park rangers have been told to be more strict about kicking us out and saying they would give us a misdemeanor charge. Bikes and scooters ride here all the time but eventually get kicked out. If we change this rule not much will change other than keeping people from getting trespassing charges. I’m always gonna ride here and a misdemeanor isn’t stopping me but let’s see if we can get this rule changed to allow bikes and scooters.
EDIT: I have heard from both sides and many opinions on the matter. The few that want to keep it as it is dislike scooters and bikes in general in which I fully understand when it is little kids dropping in front of everyone. I think one of the ways we can fix that issue is build another park in the area. Could be in Glendale/peoria and would split the portion of people at each park so everyone can ride comfortably.
With what I have seen in the Phoenix area it takes years and years for the project to get a yes on it. Example the fountain hills update took years to even get started.
The union hills skatepark is almost on the edge of the Glendale city so many people coming from Phoenix and Peoria to go to the nearest skatepark to ride so I understand that some people signing this petition are not living in Glendale.
I will make another petition soon to see if we can get another skatepark in north Peoria or Glendale but that will take a while but for now letting bikes and scooters ride a skatepark and would solve a problem that shouldn’t even be there.
