Allow Alabama High School Athletes to Transfer Without Sports Eligibility Penalty

Allow Alabama High School Athletes to Transfer Without Sports Eligibility Penalty
The Issue
Hello my name is Michael Roberson and I am a Junior at Cottage Hill Christian Academy. As a high school athlete (basketball) in the state of Alabama, I am asking for your assistance in the following matter: Allow student athletes to transfer without having to be ineligible for varsity sports. I attended St.Paul’s Episcopal School my freshman and sophomore year. My family and I decided to transfer to Cottage Hill Christian Academy. This transfer made me ineligible to play varsity sports.
I understand the rule might have been put in place to prevent students from transferring schools for the sole reason of "stacking " a team. I am asking for consideration of those students that need /want to transfer without ulterior motives. Students who achieve higher GPA's, 3.0 and above, and have no behavioral infractions should be allowed to transfer or at least be considered. l am asking that the rule be modified or have case by case verbiage added to it.
Many students, myself included focus on academics as well as athletics. The current rule seems more like a blanket punishment rather than a true solution. Thank you in advance for your consideration!
