Hello everyone!! We’ve just reached 300 signatures!! This is huge, and I am so grateful to everyone who has signed and those who have chipped in money to help boost this petition. I have an important update to announce so be sure to keep reading. 2 days ago I emailed the entire board of trustees (the team of 8) along with the superintendent, and assistant superintendent intendant. I have been waiting for a reply and this morning i got one from Mrs.Montgomery, a member of the board of trustees. I will include a photo of the email she sent but in quotes, here is what she wrote to me: “Thank you, Haylie for your input regarding masking on Allen ISD campuses for the 2021-22 school year. Hearing from students is an important part of our decision making. Thank you for taking time to articulate your concerns.” Hopefully this means that the board will have a meeting and discuss the issue of this mask rule. To everyone who has voiced their concerns and made it known that they are uncomfortable with this new rule, I thank you. If you are wanting to talk to the board of trustees or the superintendent herself, I advise you to send them a respectful email and speak up.
