This is a petition / proposition to make the Allegany County, Maryland a Second Amendment Sanctuary with Constitutional Carry. 

The infringements of the Second Amendment in need of resistance include; but are not limited to, high capacity magazine bans, weapon bans or limitations, red flag laws, and any other limitation or restriction of the constitutional rights of the people. 

The proposed Constitutional Carry is the basic principle that if you purchase a firearm, you should be able to carry that weapon, concealed, for self-defense without government “permission". This is important due to the increase in crime and drug activity in our communities.

Local government may not be able to provide complete immunity from the laws intended to be resisted, however, by refusing to enforce specific laws our county can severely limit the impact of laws passed by the state or federal government.

There have been more than 320 counties, cities and townships in over 19 states that have declared themselves Second Amendment Sanctuaries. It is our duty and responsibility as the people, the electors of power, to demand that the rights our forefathers granted be protected. We ask the Board of Commissioners to construct and vote on a resolution declaring Allegany County a Second Amendment Sanctuary with Constitutional Carry.
