Urgent Update: Stop the Rezoning of 183 Main Street East aka the Esther Jasperson Campbell House
Re-zoning application for 183 Main St. East is to take place March 22, 2021! The meeting will be held by zoom, no planning advisory meeting directly to council.
We were just a few days away from the heritage review board hearing on the heritage status of The Esther Jasperson Campbell home. A request from the developer to council to postpone meeting was discussed in a closed door meeting with our new town CAO acting as the attorney for the town and council members. A vote was taken and direction was given to our CAO to delay hearing and try to resolve or negotiate something with the developer.
This is what the developer has come back with....
23 unit /30 parking spaces 40’ high block that stretches 151 ft. Drawings are available on the Concerned Citizens Coalition of Kingsville Facebook page.
The size and scope of the building is similar to the Medical building across the street! It is the same distance from the neighbours only this new building is 3 storey! The Developer is asking for zoning allowances to allow for a taller building than allowed by new zoning, and shorter front and rear yards!
We are asking this Town Council to listen to the over 2400 people who signed our petition against the rezoning of this property!
While this plan suggests keeping the house, there is no mention of protecting it with the heritage designation!

1). Write to you Mayor and Councillors to Express Your Opposition to this Rezoning Application!
Even though we can’t show up to the council meeting, we must let the councillors know that we have not forgotten. Please write to your Mayor, Councillors, CAO and Town Planner and let them know you are against the rezoning of 183 Main Street East. Their emails are:
