I believe that all proceeds raised from Russian oligarch seizures must be given to the people of the Ukraine.

I hope to get to over 100,000 signatures so it can be raised urgently in Parliament.

I am watching the world events with astonishment and shame as a human being that in this century we can allow a European war to once more breakout on the continent. We are paradoxically the most intelligent, yet the most stupid, occupants of this planet. Whilst the earth itself struggles to survive from our depredations and excesses we decide to fight amongst ourselves. This is akin to having your house on fire yet choosing to ignore that fact to fight with your siblings in the bath over who owns the rubber duck.

The British government has announced that as part of its ongoing campaign to put pressure on Putin it will sieze the UK assets and freeze UK bank accounts found to be owned or controlled by Russian oligarchs. This is a list of individuals that is growing daily, with the most high profile figure in the UK probably being Roman Abramovich of Chelsea Football Club fame.

The purpose of this petition is to make Parliament take immediate action to liquidate all these seized assets by way of immediate sales. The entirety of these funds should be chanelled to support the Ukranian people as follows:-

i.      Help settle those Ukranian refugees who seek to come to the UK.

ii.     To support those countries/cities in Europe who are taking in huge numbers of people displaced by the Ukranian conflict, in particluar Poland.

iii.     To set up a humanitarian fund for the re-building of the Ukranian homeland once the conflict ceases.

The reason I am pressing for these assets to be sold immediateley are:-

i.       There is a desperate need for liquid funds to pay for the current relief efforts.

ii.      I fear that if this is not done quickly these assets will become bogged down in law suits and delaying tactics.

iii.     The Russian government has destroyed the Ukranian homeland so they should be made to pay the full price financially by any means at our disposal.

iv.     Putin would fully understand the seriousness of his actions and the weakness of his political position  when his richest supporters call on him to stop the war.

A few of you may feel symapthy for these Russian billionaires and multi-millionaires thinking they have created their vast wealth through enterprise and hard work. This is a misconception. The vast majority of these oligarchs are just well padded, modern robber barons, who in any moral world would be languishing in jail instead of sunbathing on their luxuary superyachts. Many of them acquired their vast wealth in the "Wild West" years after the break up of the old soviet block. They raped the natural resources and stole state industries in their own country by buying them on the cheap through dishonest officals in rigged auctions. There is no business skill involved other than the dubious knack of being able to corrupt the right person.

Those that have managed to hold onto their riches have done so by sucking up to Putin - we should have no sympathy for these people. 

The United States government has announced a Ukranian support package of circa US$13 billion. This is a huge sum of money. Yet to give you an idea of what could be seized I give you the vessel The Eclipse, owned by Roman Abramovich. This is valued at between US$650 million to US$ 1 billion - AND HE OWNS SIX SIMILAR SUPERYACHTS! 

We should be able to at least raise another US$13 billion to help Ukranian humanitarian efforts from seizures but we must move fast and decisiveley before the sales get bogged down in legal red tape or even worse are returned because of some political compromise. 

There is no justification for this war other than one man's ego and madness - think Hitler, Starlin, Pol Pot, Idi Armin, Omar al-Bashi, Mobuto Ses Seko, Ivan the Terrible, or Saddam Hussein. Let's get the richest Russians cut away from Putin's political support base!

I watch the news channels with tears in my eyes over the merciless killing and shelling of helpless civilians, most recently the bombing of the maternity hospital on Wednesday. Imagine if you will, three weeks ago you were going about your everyday life with your family then suddenly your home is gone, your town is gone, food and water are disappearing, and you have to walk, bus or train yourself 1000 miles to a foreign country with just the clothes on your back. We might think this will not happen to us but we are only three countries away from the Ukraine.

"For evil to prosper it takes only that good people say nothing!"
