Life is too short to not voice our opinions for what we believe needs to change now! I am so grateful for all of you supporting for this movement. I’ll be honest I thought no one would sign my petition, because for so long I was shunned to keep my mouth shut by so many adults. If you are victim of sexual assault or you know a loved one who has been hurt, DO NOT BE ASHAMED or KEEP QUIET. I know when covid ends my goal is to protest and demand that police officers need to become more educated and respect victims who are minorities. If you agree comment in the box where it explains ‘why you signing my petition.’ Due to to all statistics of women who are Indigenous, immigrants,LGBTQ+, who are married or dating their perpetrators  are disrespected and frowned upon when reporting. Police officers from local communities and RCMP have to take responsibility and change there arrogant attitude and use appropriate words when talking to a victim. They should not make assumption, or question them as if they made it up. Many victims do not recall specific details because they repress them as a defence mechanism. Police officer should Be required to do an in depth course on how to talk to survivor, how to approach a survivor when questioning them in order to not offend the victim, have a choice to have a specific officer when interviewing the victim, in order to create a more open environment for the victims to feel comfortable and understood. Those steps need to be implemented, in order to have more survivors come forwardand be heard. Thank you everyone ❤️
