Petition updateGeneral Motors Voids Warranty Over Catch Can!
GM thumbs their nose at loyal owners and the petition.

Yes, but what did we really expect.
An outside engineer came up with a device to address a shortcoming with the original GM design. How long will a direct injected engine last without a catch can? Maybe about 60k miles. Interesting that the GM power-train warranty has recently been reduced to 60K miles.
The actual text from the warranty pamphlet states that the damage has to be a "result" of the modification or alteration. Also the same section refers to "components" that fail, so claiming an entire engine as a "part" would be inconsistent with the language of the rest of the section.
Although the original party has resigned to pay for his repairs, and his VIN# will be forever stamped "WARRANTY VOID", let's keep circulating the petition.
Maybe, someday, GM will quit burring their head in the sand and address the issue.
