Dear Supporters,

We are thrilled to share a significant milestone in our campaign for Alice’s Law. Last week, Save Face Director Ashton Collins presented our case to the Women and Equalities Select Committee in Parliament, emphasising the urgent need for legislative action to protect the public from high-risk cosmetic procedures.

During her testimony, Ashton highlighted the grave dangers associated with liquid BBLs and the critical importance of enacting Alice’s Law. This proposed legislation would ensure these high-risk procedures can only be performed by GMC-registered plastic surgeons operating within CQC-regulated settings, safeguarding public safety and preventing further tragedies.

Ashton was joined by Sasha Dean, whose compelling testimony vividly illustrates the devastating consequences of liquid BBLs. Sasha bravely shared her harrowing experience following a near-fatal liquid BBL, emphasising why urgent change is desperately needed.

Eighteen months ago, Sasha underwent a procedure that nearly cost her life and forever altered its course. She had a liquid BBL performed by someone she thought she could trust. She was told the procedure was risk-free. Soon after, Sasha became extremely unwell. She was rushed to the hospital by ambulance and was in full septic shock and was placed in an induced coma. Her family was informed that her chance of survival was just 5%. Despite hospital efforts, she endured a cardiac arrest, collapsed lungs, and kidney failure. After five weeks in the hospital battling for her life, she had to relearn how to walk.

This procedure has affected every single aspect of Sasha's life, leaving her with serious health challenges. Because there are no laws regulating these high-risk procedures, the individuals responsible still operate with impunity, leaving Sasha and others without justice.

Sasha’s story is not an isolated incident; we are supporting hundreds of other women who have had similar experiences because of these extremely dangerous procedures.

We are deeply grateful for Sasha’s bravery and your ongoing support in this critical campaign. Her courage and resilience are an inspiring reminder of why #Alice’sLaw is so urgently needed. If enacted, it will help prevent other lives from being forever changed or lost.

Please help us make a difference: sign and share our petition to ban these dangerous procedures and protect future victims from suffering similar trauma.
