PROTECT the Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtles

PROTECT the Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtles
The Issue
Hey! You probably already know that sea turtles are endangered, but did you know that the Kemp's Ridley sea turtles are CRITICALLY ENDANGERED? I'm pretty sure most of you didn't know that, and some of you might not have even heard of the Kemp's Ridley. The Kemp's Ridley sea turtles and all the other sea turtles are SUPER important to the environment. If one species goes extinct, the whole food chain is in great danger, and that's including us too. The Kemp's Ridley sea turtles eat seagrass, which is pretty similar to grass because it always needs to be cut short and kept healthy. The seagrass beds are cut by the Kemp's Ridley and kept healthy by them as well. Seagrass beds are developmental grounds for many organisms such as shellfish, crustaceans, and fish. Without the seagrass beds, many organisms would be at risk. Though this species of sea turtles are protected by other treaties, national laws, and agreements, they still are at risk of becoming COMPLETELY EXTINCT. Why, you may ask? It's because some people are still fishing and they're accidentally catching these turtles. It's not just that but people are also still polluting into these oceans which is still a big threat. Please help us make a change and save these turtles!
