Dear Supporter,

Over a quarter of a million consumers have joined together to tell Aldi that they want more humanely raised pork.  However, Aldi still has yet to even acknowledge our concerns publicly, and won’t commit to stop sourcing pork raised using cruel and unnecessary gestation crates.

Aldi’s animal welfare policy states that a pig “is in a good state of welfare if it is...able to express innate behavior”. Most of us can’t see how confining mother pigs in tiny crates for virtually their entire lives, unable to even turn around, is natural or good. Aldi’s own animal welfare policy should already prohibit this cruel practice, since these confined mothers are definitely not able to express their innate behavior and personalities.

Please vocalize your compassion once again, and take just a few minutes to email Aldi customer service. Choose “Corporate Feedback and Questions” and then “Policies”.

Politely let them know that the humane treatment of pigs is important to you and that many customers know that using gestation crates is a cruel and unnecessary practice. Ask Aldi when it will join most of the other major grocery chains and publicly commit to ending this practice in it supply chain.  Thank them for passing along your message to the appropriate leadership.

Aldi listens to its customers … so we are hopeful they will hear us. But we need your help. Please take a few minutes to send an email and let's make this happen for the animals!

Thank you!
