The name Bibb Graves is synonymous with Alabama history and The University of North Alabama. However, it has now become common knowledge that in addition to being governor, David Bibb Graves was also Grand Cyclops of the Montgomery Klavern of the Ku Klux Klan. In an effort to show change for racial justice and inclusion, this petition will help change the name to that of Wendell Gunn, the first African American student at UNA. Together we can all move forward to wipe out any memorial that fosters the same hate and racisim that the Ku Klux Klan once held.
