This Warden, Carter Davenport, has overseen murders and violence under his leadership at St. Clair prison by creating a toxic environment where there is no accountability, no respect for Adm. Regs and S.O.P.'s, and no resources allocated to Education and Rehabilitation.  Warden Davenport stopped the Convicts Against Violence program, which had brought violence down to all-time lows under former Warden David Wise.  He also ended C.A.V., an education program with over 400 Students in the L-M and P-Q dorms where predominately black men are now "warehoused". In the past 60 DAYS there has been a wave a violence to sweep over St Clair, and the Commissioner Kim T. Thomas's Office has done nothing to intervene.  In fact, the Commissioner's Office is busy dealing with mismanagement of funds and unconfirmed reports are that Coor. Grant Culliver has resigned, with Associate Commissioner DeLoach still under investigation. Warden Davenport repeatedly violates and allows the violation of the Civil Rights of prisoners under his control and authority. This abuse of power must be stopped. The guards in the prison at St Clair are undisciplined and abusive under the leadership of Warden Davenport.  Guards have been found sleeping on the job (as pictured above) on multiple occasions. This is not the way citizens of the State of Alabama intend for their tax dollars to be spent.
