Petition updateAkerele Pty Ltd: Pull the p*rn billboard!P*rn billboard changed to promo clothing recycler

Dear Supporters,

For reasons unknown, the gigantic Perth p*rn billboard I’ve petitioned to pull down has been modified and is now being used to promote a clothing recycling company. The OnlyFans logo still features prominently on the billboard, but the previous p*rn site QR code has been removed and a new QR code directs viewers to the clothing co website.

The p*rn themed image of the woman has been changed to depict her wearing a jumper.

Did WA Billboards quietly back down after we asked owner Steve if he was ok with showing kids p*rn?

Did the Ricciardellos and Akerele Pty Ltd (the landowners) tell WA Billboards they wanted the ad changed after seeing the names of 6000 supporters on my petition calling for the p*rn billboard’s removal?

We may never find out.

Just to make sure all bases are covered, yesterday I submitted a request for an independent review of Ad Standards’ dismissal of community complaints about the ad. I included details of my petition so the reviewer can see how much we wanted the p*rn billboard gone.

Read Collective Shout’s response to the Community Panel’s rubbish ruling on the p*rn billboard here.

Collective Shout will be using the ruling to ramp up calls for a new ad system which prioritises community members over vested interests. Sign up to their mailing list for updates here.

Thanks for your support,

Lyn
