Overturn the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park Camping Ban

Overturn the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park Camping Ban
The Issue
The Scottish Government have approved a new Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park camping ban - making it illegal to camp in the national park.
While wild camping is supposed to be legal in Scotland, the national park have exploited a bye-law forbidding people to camp on this land. I would strongly urge you to circulate this petition to get as many signatures as we can to voice our displeasure.
The Minister for the Environment has ignored letters that make allegations about the behaviour of Park Board members. She has refused to talk to the senior police officer in the area at the time of the first East Loch Lomond bye-laws -- a man who knows more about the problems in the region and how to deal with them than anyone else.
We feel this was a one-sided decision by the Minister who appears to be more interested in placating the convenor of the Park Board (who just happens to have a luxury home on the shores of one of the lochs). This camping ban will affect innocent walkers, cyclists and canoeists who have treasured this park for years.
Permits, bans and bye-laws are the words that will now taint this National Park and those who run it. What kind of message is this to send to overseas visitors?
If you feel strongly about this please sign and circulate our petition and help get this ban overturned. Thank you.
