We, the undersigned, are calling for an immediate change in how Facebook (Meta) handles account bans, especially those tied to personal identities and business pages.

Every day, countless users are being locked out of their accounts—without warning, explanation, or legitimate appeals process—due to automated AI systems flagging them for supposed “violations.” Many of these accounts are innocent, with no history of abuse. Yet once banned, users are forced into a maze of unhelpful automated support, often redirected to scammers posing as Facebook “helpers,” or left with no response at all.

This isn’t just inconvenient—it’s devastating. Many users rely on Facebook to run small businesses, manage community pages, or stay in touch with family. A sudden, unappealable ban can result in financial loss, mental stress, and complete digital isolation.

We demand:

Human Review for Banned Accounts:
Facebook must stop relying solely on AI to issue bans. Every account ban, especially those tied to verified business pages or long-standing user history, must go through a human review process before being finalized.
Restore Wrongfully Banned Accounts:
Users whose accounts were wrongly disabled must be given a legitimate appeal pathway and, where appropriate, immediate reinstatement.
Accessible, Legitimate Customer Support:
Facebook must provide real customer service—not just online forms or chatbots. There should be verified, secure ways to contact Meta for support. The current system too often leads desperate users to scammers posing as support reps.
Facebook/Meta is a trillion-dollar company with the resources to fix this. We deserve better. It’s time for transparency, accountability, and support that actually supports people.
