A huge thank you to Marce Walsh, who recently commented on one of my petition updates, making me aware that a toy company called Mattel has released a toy elephant ride. I think this is absurd, and we have to demand this toy not be produced and sold. It is desensitization to the violence elephants go through. 

Please send a message to Mattel toy company asking them not to make this toy, inform them of elephant crushing, and share it on social media. 

The future of elephants may rest in the hands our children. They may be the generation that decides their fate if ours fails to do enough.

I want to formally ask you to stop production of the elephant ride toy. Elephant rides are the product of violence and cruelty, as well as the decline of wild populations of asian elephants.

The term for training an elephant to be ridden is called 'crushing', and includes starvation, sleep deprivation, beatings, being tied down, and being screamed at for several weeks. This breaks the elephants spirit, or 'crushes' it, to force the elephant to give up and do as it is told by the trainers

Elephants often die of exhaustion, infection, starvation, and dehydration due to the grueling nature of the tourism industry. This toy is desensitizing our children who may be the deciding generation on the fate of this magnificent species.

I will not support your toy company if you produce this toy
