I am a firm believer in the importance of a Universal Basic Income (UBI) system to curtail world poverty. As I have noticed recently, I have observed destitution and hardship, which could have been avoided if people had a certain financial security net. However, the implementation of a UBI can provide that safety net, ensuring everyone - in every nation globally - above the age of 16, has guaranteed income.

A UBI system is not just fantasy. Experiments have shown that it can meaningfully improve people’s lives. For instance, a two-year UBI pilot program in Finland found that recipients had fewer stress levels and greater incentives to work compared to those on traditional unemployment benefits (source: Finnish Government’s official evaluation report, 2020). Yet, we need a global commitment to make UBI a reality for everyone.

Let's imagine a world where there is no fear of poverty, where every individual can contribute to society without the weight of financial instability. This is not beyond us; it is a societal advancement which we can achieve.
