The Issue

I write this petition as someone deeply personally connected to the power of music. My wife, the love of my life, along with millions of individuals across the United States and BILLIONS across the world, have battled with mental health issues. One band that has consistently spoken to mental health awareness through their heart-touching lyrics is Twenty Øne Piløts. They are a beacon of hope, a voice for the voiceless in the realm of mental health.

Additionally, diversity in music genre is key for the Superbowl Halftime shows. For a few years now, hip-hop has claimed the spotlight. And as wonderful & impactful as acts like Usher & especially Kendrick Lamar have been, let's take a slight break, and give a band that has touched billions of hearts around the globe, Twenty Øne Pilots the honor because they are undeniably worthy.

We ask the Superbowl Committee to consider Twenty Øne Pilots for the Halftime Show in 2026. While deciding, keep in mind  that the World Health Organization has estimated that 1 in 4 people in the world will be affected by mental or neurological disorders at some point in their lives (source: WHO). And 21P have several videos on YouTube that have reached multiple BILLIONS, with a B, of views, & others with Hundreds of Millions. They are one of the highest grossing bands in the world, currently on a massive global tour, so they are clearly worthy and can draw a crowd. This is more than a show. It's an opportunity to let music be a healing force, a conversation starter, a gateway to mental health awareness.

Let Twenty Øne Pilots take the stage and be that beacon of light to those silently suffering, like my wife. Sign this petition if you believe in the power of music to heal, to spread awareness, and to give hope.
