My own introduction to gaming coincided with the history of the Marathon game, as it was the first game I played on my Mac as a child. Over the years, the Marathon game series, released by Bungie, has maintained a significant foothold in the hearts of Mac users, largely due to its historical and sustained alignment with Mac systems. The notable absence of a Mac release for the reboot Marathon game, therefore, is not only surprising but a significant disappointment. We must remember that Marathon was first and foremost introduced on Macs.

In addition, Mac users represent a significant portion of the gaming community; in fact, 25.4% of the global desktop computer market is dominated by macOS as of 2021 (StatCounter Global Stats). It is misguided and economically suboptimal to exclude such a substantial division of the potential fan base.

This decision overlooks the loyalty and passion of Mac users like me, who have been integral to the success of the Marathon game series since its inception. It is essential that Bungie acknowledges this and ensures that the reboot Marathon game is also released on Mac.
