Advocate for Recognition of Kilmar Abrego Garcia's Dedication as a Father
The Issue
This petition stems from a deeply personal place, as we push against an increasing abuse of power that undermines the very fabric of our governmental balance. Kilmar Abrego Garcia, currently unjustly imprisoned in a notorious El Salvador prison, represents a tragic tale of power overstepping its bounds. Deported unlawfully, Garcia is far from his family - the very people he was tirelessly devoted to.
We ask today for the recognition of his immense dedication as a father and propose he be nominated for the honor of "FATHER OF THE YEAR". In 2019, El Salvador had the third-highest number of deportations from the U.S., with an estimated 18,782 cases (source: United States Department of Homeland Security). Each one of these statistics represents an individual, a family, and a potential heartbreaking narrative like Garcia's.
Having three branches of government exists to maintain a check and balance, to prevent one body from wielding unchecked authority. The merit of Garcia's devotion as a father should be recognized and upheld, his plight should serve as a reminder of the many lives impacted by incongruous power structures.
Help us illuminate the injustice he faces and push for a reformation that respects the human rights and personal narratives of each individual. Stand with us, sign this petition, and lend your voice to Garcia's cause.
