This petition is born out of personal conviction and a strong desire to see a change in our societal narrative. The current images on our currency, specifically the image of Gandhi, have become a contentious subject among many citizens who believe these representations reflect favoritism towards a certain political party.

This petition is not a condemnation of any individual or group, but a call for diversity and representation of our shared national pride. The proposed idea is to replace the image of Gandhi with pictures representing the Indian Army, Airforce, Navy, and freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. These are figures that are dear to the hearts of millions of Indians and will symbolize an unified national identity and celebrate our collective achievements.

Aside from politics, there has been some controversy surrounding the personal behavior of Gandhi, leading to discomfort for some holders of our currency notes.

As we envision an India of the future, it’s essential that our currency also reflects the diversity and strength of our nation. Hence, this proposal pleads with the Reserve Bank of India to consider this initiative.
