The issue

I, like many other residents of Tonsley Village, live in fear and frustration each day due to our relentless parking issues. We reside in a high-density development with narrow streets, minuscule garages, and severe lack of off-street parking options. The overflow of vehicles have reduced our once navigable streets to claustrophobic lanes, impeding normal life and jeopardizing safety.

Our quaint village streets are besieged by the constant congestion resulting from ill-thought design and insufficient parking provisions. The narrowed passageways of our neighborhood, teeming with parked vehicles, have turned our homes into inaccessible islands. Essential services such as emergency services and garbage collection are frequently obstructed, affecting the quality of life, and posing serious risks to property and public safety. Instances occur all too often where our garbage is not collected simply because the garbage truck cannot maneuver through overrun streets.

Addressing the congestion in Tonsley Village doesn't merely improve convenience; it is a matter of immediate public safety. We implore both Marion Council and Peet Limited to consider implementing comprehensive parking solutions and redesign strategies involving residents' consultation.

We strongly believe in the potential of Tonsley Village — we just hope that our parking woes don't overshadow its promise. Please sign this petition to help us convey this critical issue to the council and urge them to take immediate action.
