Advocate for Gorillaz to Represent the UK at Eurovision 2026

The issue

Eurovision is not just a song contest; it has long been a platform for celebrating human inclusion and diversity. According to many of us, one of the most successful virtual bands ever - Gorillaz, should represent the United Kingdom at Eurovision 2026, To Be Held in Austria Following JJ's Win in Basel. As ardent followers and fans, we believe this representation would significantly strengthen the spirit of the event. Gorillaz, with its band members, 2-D, Noodle, Russel, and Murdoc would be the perfect fit.

After the UK got their second Televote Nul Points in a row in 2025. The BBC will have to crank it up, and what better way then to send a Superstar and make Eurovision History

We believe, that they could take Eurovision's narrative -- a place for every race, every identity, every preference -- a notch higher, With cartoons. Damon Albarn can play 2-D's voice live to meet the Eurovision's rules, while the cartoon characters are either on a screen or as holograms (Like in the MTV Europe awards Feel Good Inc. Performance) thus also adding a unique twist to the competition. Interestingly, with Murdoc, we might just see the oldest contestant that year at the age of 59. More importantly, they could become the first-ever virtual band to compete, thus making history.

We believe that having Gorillaz on stage at Eurovision would not only amplify the reach and acceptance of the contest but would also galvanize their fans and followers. Their representation, has the potential of bringing in a remarkable position for the UK. Previous years have seen unique representations, including Dustin The Turkey for Ireland in 2008. This reaffirms that Gorillaz has a place on the Eurovision stage.

However, The UK is a Big Five Country, Alongside France, Italy, Spain and Germany. Big Five Countries don't usually do that well in the final due to them Automatically Qualifying without going through a Semifinal. Still, it would be amazing to See Gorillaz doing the biggest thing they've ever done

We urge the BBC and Damon Albarn to give this a serious consideration. Let's make Eurovision 2026 one of the biggest events in the history of the contest. Sign this petition and let our voice be heard!

The UK Needs 2-D, Murdoc, Noodle and Russel!
