Hello petition allies, I have not had any communication with the Adventist Health leadership since my last update. However, I did notice this article (attached) published in my local newspaper which quotes the media representative as stating what I have already confirmed: Adventist Health plans to look the other way and ALLOW its affiliated physicians to participate in assisted suicide. As a Christian organization, why would Adventist Health choose NOT to take full advantage of the opt out that the secular law allows? This is precisely the question that we need to keep asking the leadership. We cannot make this argument with the numerous secular health care providers in California, but we certainly can ask Adventist Health to act in a way that is consistent with their Christian mission: "To share God's love." How is allowing its physicians to actively kill patients part of God's love? What you can do today: 1.) Contact AH Corporate Communications: 916-781-4756 CorpComm@ah.org 2.) Contact AH President and CEO, Scott Reiner: (916) 781-2000 tuacj@ah.org 3.) Contact the leadership board as listed on the website for your local AH facility. Go to www.adventisthealth.org and click on the "Locations" link to find your nearest location. 4.) Contact your local media and suggest that they do a story on what local policies will be, including whether there will be PUBLIC policies made available to patients and potential patients. Otherwise, how will the public know whether a facility is participating? How will there be any accountability to patients? 5.) Search to see if any stories have already been written that may quote representatives from other AH facilities and please share with me. 6.) Contact pro-life media and suggest that they include our petition in a story about assisted suicide. I have already contacted Lifesitenews.com and Lifenews.com. I have been interviewed on two pro-life radio programs so far. 7.) Consider organizing a "Take a Stand Against Suicide" event outside one of your local AH facilities, or any other facility that you know will start offering assisted suicide beginning tomorrow. This is a wonderful way to express your opinion to the facility leadership and is also a way to raise public awareness. Remember most people have no idea that assisted suicide was pushed through by our legislature. And lack of knowledge makes a person even more vulnerable to abuses. 8.) PRAY PRAY PRAY! And please remember: "Evil prevails when good men do nothing"? The opposite is also true: Against God's church "the gates of Hades shall not prevail." Jennifer Warner warner.jennie@hotmail.com
