The last chance to convince our Suffolk County Legislators to vote no or table this resolution. Tell Suffolk County Legislators you oppose Res 1619 before the vote 4:00 PM this Wednesday, Sept 9. A big effort has been launched by Shinnecock Neighbors to defeat Res 1619, part of our effort to save the Shinnecock Canal from overdevelopment: this resolution gives public lands along and around the Shinnecock Canal to private developers (read more below). Via transfer rather then purchase. Every email counts: to counter the developers and their paid staff and supporters (including campaign donations and/or support to Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone; Southampton Town Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst; Candidate for Supervisor and current County Legislator Jay Schneiderman and others) pushing through a resolution that benefits them.
