I would like to share an update on the campaign today, because this progress belongs to us all.
Thanks to our efforts, the Government has mapped the UK’s freezer gaps and committed to update national guidance for tumour tissue freezing – meaning that, if done right, no more brain cancer patients needlessly missing out on treatment, diagnostic and research opportunities simply because their tissue was not stored in the right way.
The Minister confirmed this in Parliament last week during a packed, emotional debate on brain cancer research and treatment.
You can watch a short clip of the Minister’s response on addressing the tissue freezing postcode lottery here.
We still have a long way to go before every patient has the consent, choice, and control they deserve. But this is real progress, and we have achieved it together.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing with us.
If you can do one small thing today, please share this petition with your friends and families so that even more people can join us and help keep this momentum going.
With heartfelt thanks,
Ellie
