The Budget is now in chaos as the Chancellor has apparently dropped her plans to hike income tax on pensioners by 2p, a screeching U-turn which Silver Voices helped to achieve. But in an effort to fill the economic black hole, the Treasury is hinting that the freeze on tax thresholds will be extended until 2030 and tax personal allowances may even be reduced! It is therefore important that our current Budget petition receives more support to stop the state pension being taxed. It has more than 175,000 signatures already but we need more to show the strength of public feeling. If these Budget plans go through the whole state pension system and the Triple Lock will be undermined as you will be taxed on both! Sign and share the petition here:
