#EqualPayForEqualPlay at Adidas Creators Premier League Mumbai

#EqualPayForEqualPlay at Adidas Creators Premier League Mumbai
The Issue
My name is Gwenda and I play football at the Adidas Creators Premier League (ACPL) in Mumbai. My team and I just won the league title but instead of celebrating our victory, we are now fighting gender based discrimination.
ACPL has a men's league (16 teams) and a women's league (8 teams). While the men's league winners get a cash prize of 4 Lacs INR, the women's league winners get no cash prize. We demand #EqualPayForEqualPlay and urge the league management team to pay a prize money of 50,000 INR to the women's league winners. (This amount is proportional equal to the amount the men's league winners get based on the entry fee the team owners pay).
We tried to discuss this issue personally with the organizers. However, their official response was: 1. Why are we raising the issue at the end of the league and not the beginning. 2. It is about women empowerment, not about winning or losing.
We ask for your support in our fight for #PayEqualForPlayEqual and hope you will sign the petition and share it with your friends, family, football teams and everyone who supports gender equality!
This petition is supported by: O'sheish Ladies FC, Valyrian Dragons FC, GISB Blue Flames, Boston Buttchers FC, After Eight FC, Gully Girls FC and many individual male and female footballers.
