We, the students and parents of Center School Distract, have serious concerns regarding the behavior and teaching practices of substitute teacher Mrs. Spottsville. Her actions in the classroom, such as attempting to impose personal beliefs like veganism on students and making divisive statements—such as claiming that only white people can be racist—have created an uncomfortable, disruptive, and inappropriate learning environment. These behaviors are not only distracting but also undermine the respectful and inclusive atmosphere that our school strives to provide.

Classrooms should be spaces where students feel safe, respected, and free from ideological pressure or controversial rhetoric. These incidents have affected students' ability to focus on their studies and foster a positive relationship with education.

This petition is a call to Dr. McCarthy to take immediate action by reviewing Mrs. Spottsville’s conduct and addressing these concerns. We urge the administration to ensure that all substitute teachers adhere to professional standards that promote respect, inclusivity, and neutrality in the classroom.
