I have always cared deeply about the city we live in and the quality of our shared public spaces. Seeing bulky waste left in our neighborhoods for weeks affects how people experience their community and how they feel about their city. Sarajevo deserves a cleaner, better organized environment for everyone.

Unfortunately, Sarajevo is increasingly facing the problem of illegal disposal of bulky waste in neighborhoods and public spaces. This issue negatively impacts the quality of life of citizens, poses a threat to public health, and tarnishes the appearance of our beautiful city. It is distressing to see our streets and parks littered with old furniture, broken appliances, and other large waste items.

One of the main causes of this problem is the absence of a clearly organized system for bulky waste collection. Citizens are often uninformed about where and when they can dispose of their waste properly. This lack of information and infrastructure leads to frustration and results in improper waste disposal.

The current situation calls for immediate action. We, the citizens of Sarajevo, urge the local government and relevant authorities to implement a systematic and effective bulky waste collection program. This program should include designated collection days, readily accessible drop-off points, and a comprehensive information campaign to educate citizens about proper disposal methods.

Furthermore, establishing penalties for illegal dumping and increasing monitoring in hotspots for illegal disposal can act as a deterrent and encourage responsible waste management.

Implementing these solutions not only requires governmental action but also community involvement. We implore every resident to take pride in our city and engage in maintaining its cleanliness.
