Faith and her sister are staying with Daniel for two weeks while she continues to recover from her first round of surgeries.  When she is readmitted to the hospital, she will receive additional surgeries.  Watch the latest video from Daniel and Faith here. Faith and Daniel decided that Faith will stay with him and his family to save money.  (The costs of bus fare to and from her home village was more than they could afford.)  Daniel has been helping clean Faith's wounds with warm water and changing her bandages regularly.  Earlier today, they removed her bandages and cleaned her wounds, but found that her neck is not healing so well.  According to Daniel, "The wound is enlarging and deepening, so I had to take her to the doctor.  We've been given new medication to use, Flucamox (an antibiotic) and a strong pain killer."  Hopefully, Faith will respond well to these medications.  At this point, they are still planning to return to the hospital in approximately two weeks.  Overall, Daniel tells us that Faith is doing well and in good spirits.  They both (and all of us at RISE) appreciate your messages of support so much.  

Thanks to your donations, we raised approximately $700 to support Faith during this process.  This has helped Daniel travel to Faith's village, pick Faith up and bring her to the hospital in Kampala, and then transport Faith's sister to Kampala.  The money has helped provide food for Faith and her sister, and purchase medications and bandages that Faith has needed throughout the past several weeks.  We have been sending the money on an as needed basis.  Daniel tells us what they have purchased and when they run out, and then we send another installment.  At this point, all of the money raised has been sent.  We anticipate that more will be needed soon- the money will go towards covering food for Faith and her sister while they stay with Daniel and his family, and any additional medications and bandages needed for Faith.  If you are able, please donate here.  At this time, we would like to raise an additional $300 to support her recovery.
