Due to the current situation in Ukraine, the UK will be expecting a fair amount of Ukrainian refugees. This includes young children/ teenagers that are eager to continue their education, so it would make sense to add Ukrainian language. The refugees may include teachers who can contribute to teaching the language in schools which may help them adjust to the major transition that they are going through. 

Also, currently in the UK there is a wide community of Ukrainians residing already. This means Ukrainian speaking people will want to teach their children Ukrainian language. Teenagers like myself, who are Ukrainian living in the UK and are ready to choose their one required MFL language in KS4 do not have the option to choose their own language, so they are forced to resort to the only choices available Russian or Polish.

I think that Ukrainian language should be added to the MFL choice list as it will be beneficial to a lot of students seeking refuge in the UK and the vast Ukrainian community already present in the UK. Id like my request to be put through as a matter of urgency to the relevant qualification regulator. I do not expect this petition to loose as in the current situation this is the least the government can do to provide further education for the Ukrainians in the UK.
