THE BOSTON RED SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As devoted Red Sox fans and proud Bostonians (both human and canine), we formally request the addition of a "Pups in the Park" series to the 2025 schedule. We believe this would not only bring joy to thousands of Red Sox fans but would also enhance Fenway’s legendary game-day experience. Plus, let’s face it—nothing brings a stadium together like the sight of a Golden Retriever catching a foul ball or a Beagle howling during Sweet Caroline!

Why Boston Needs Pups in the Park: Boston might not always top the charts as the most dog-friendly city (we were ranked ahem 100th out of 100 for pet-friendliness (Boston 25 News)), but we know Bostonians love their dogs more than Dunkin'. There are more than 7,000 registered dogs in the Greater Boston area, with popular names like Bella, Max, and, of course, Brady, nodding to our diehard sports culture (MuckRock). And despite the challenges, Boston dog owners are officially ranked the most sociable in the country (Rover.com)—what better way to channel that sociability than bonding over baseball and dawgs of all kinds?

Other MLB Teams are Doing It Right: Teams across Major League Baseball have already had massive success with similar events:

  • 19 MLB teams hosted pups in the park events last season. Let’s be #20.
  • The Washington Nationals have made their "Pups in the Park" a staple event with six games each season, drawing big crowds and supporting local animal charities (MLB.com).
  • The Los Angeles Dodgers were so overwhelmed by demand that they added a second "Pups at the Park" game after the first sold out (Think Blue LA).

How It Benefits Everyone: These events aren’t just a "paws" in the game; they’re a win-win. They give fans a unique experience, increase attendance, and offer an opportunity for local shelters and animal charities to gain visibility and funding. Let’s not forget the social media buzz—who wouldn't double-tap a photo of Fenway filled with pups wearing tiny Red Sox jerseys?

We suggest a series of 3-5 "Pups in the Park" games throughout the 2025 season, with proceeds from dog tickets supporting local shelters or our very own Animal Rescue League of Boston. Boston’s dogs are ready for their time to shine in the spotlight at Fenway.

We look forward to seeing Fenway Park’s stands filled with Red Sox fans—and their furry best friends—in 2025! Please add some paws to the line-up!

Sincerely,
Alexa and Palmer 🐾 Fleet
