Add Hong Kong and East Asia CS2 servers to FACEIT
Проблема
Playing Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) on FACEIT is a thrilling experience, especially for competitive players across Asia. However, there's a significant disparity when it comes to gameplay quality between different regions. While Southeast Asian players, accessing servers hosted in Singapore, benefit from a low-latency environment, those of us in East and North Asia are not so fortunate. Whether you're in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, or Mongolia, we're forced to compete with 90–150 ms ping. In a fast-paced game like CS2, where milliseconds count and can determine peeker's advantage and hit registration, this is a disadvantage that cannot be ignored.
FACEIT is renowned as the leading competitive platform for Counter-Strike 2, yet it hasn't matched the server distribution that Valve, the developer, has established. Valve has invested in servers across Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Seoul for their official matchmaking systems, demonstrating a clear recognition of the player base's needs in this region. FACEIT needs to take a similar approach by adding dedicated servers in Hong Kong and other East Asian locations to ensure all players have a fair and enjoyable experience.
Statistics from Valve's servers show a significant user base in East Asia. According to recent reports, the active CS2 player count in North and East Asia is well over 50% of its total Asia numbers. Yet, these players face consistent disadvantages that players in other regions simply do not. Providing regional servers will not only level the playing field but also likely increase player retention and skill levels, making FACEIT's platform even stronger and more appealing.
Moreover, gaming is more than just competition; it's a form of social interaction and personal fulfillment. For many of us, gaming is not just a pastime; it's how we connect with friends or blow off steam after a long day. High latency disrupts these moments of joy and connection, making the game frustrating over fun.
We urge FACEIT to recognize this disparity and implement changes that reflect the growing demand and need for East Asian servers. By doing so, FACEIT will enhance game quality, support the massive community in the region, and bolster its reputation amongst players globally.
