Add an Option for Artists in UMG's Udio Deal - and save the future of Music.

The Issue

UMG just made an agreement with the popular AI music creation platform, Udio, that makes the platform Udio more copyright-sensitive, by not allowing AI songs to be downloaded and put on apps like Spotify. This seems like a net positive, but there is a caveat. UMG have also made an agreement that on a separate service, all of UMG's massive catalog, available for training and the specific voices of artists to be used in AI music.

As an aspiring artist, I find this disgusting. I've wanted to be a musician, since I was a little kid playing Guitar Hero on my Playstation 3. Now I worry I may never get the chance to be successful, because AI musicians will have taken over.

We demand an opt out option for UMG's program for music artists, so that artists can protect their music from consented theft.

Artists this will affect include Taylor Swift, Billie Eillish, Post Malone, Kendrick Lamar, Bob Dylan, Sabrina Carpenter, Drake, SZA, U2, Bad Bunny, and more. You can find a list on  https://www.umusicpub.com/us/Artists.aspx

If this deal will not be given regulation instantly, songs could be made that create situations in which YOUR favorite artist could be sentenced to prison or killed because of a viral song that said they committed a crime.

Protect artists. Protect lives. Protect music. Sign this petition.
