African Americans have a rich and storied history and culture. Despite a flag being established in 1967, this flag is not present on Instagram (or any other social networking sites). It is normal to scroll down Instagram and see different flags adorn people's pages, showcasing their pride in their heritage. African American people should be able to do the same. Please sign your name if you support inclusion of the Black American Heritage Flag to Instagram.

Ultimately, we'd like other social media platforms, inspired by this campaign, to introduce this flag to their app as well. Beyond that, this campaign can help disabuse people of the notion that African Americans lack a culture and begin talks about the contributions of the AA community and how it fits within the rich tapestry that is the African diaspora.
