📢 Quick Update: Expanding our campaign for the WHOLE of Broomhouse!

First off, a massive thank you to everyone who has signed and shared the petition so far—the support has been amazing!
When I first started this, the main goal was to ask Glasgow City Council to make our local Firework Control Zone (FCZ) last 365 days a year, instead of just 11 days around Bonfire Night.
But after taking a closer look at the council’s official boundary map, it turned out there’s another huge problem: large parts of Broomhouse have been left completely outside the protected area!
It doesn't make sense for one street to have protection while a neighbouring street right next door gets left exposed to unannounced fireworks.
Under the 2022 Act, the council actually has the power to fix both the dates and the map boundaries. So, I am officially updating our petition to push Glasgow City Council for two clear changes:
🗓️ 365-day year-round protection (no more random, off-season fireworks going off in residential streets).
🗺️ An expanded boundary line that covers the ENTIRE Broomhouse residential area, so no home or street is left out.
If you haven't signed yet—or if you can share this with neighbours, especially those on streets left off the original map—please help us get this across the finish line.
Let's get full, year-round safety and peace of mind for all of Broomhouse! 🐾🏡
